Managing Director – John Lee

John is the founder and Managing Director of VIP Hospitality. As the Managing Director, John oversees the overall operation and growth of VIP. Prior to starting VIP, he was a Regional Vice President with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).  While at IHG, he was responsible for sourcing and executing various development projects for IHG throughout the Western US/Canada Region with the main focus on the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand. Prior to IHG, John was a VP at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels. 

John received a Masters of Management in Hospitality degree from Cornell University. He also holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from the University of Oregon.

VP of Operations – Rob Lee

Rob joined VIP as Director of Operations in summer 2007, overseeing all aspects of hotel operations at VIP. Prior to VIP, Rob worked as an Area Operations Manager for Lightstone Group/ESA Hotels in Orange County, CA. There, Rob oversaw all aspects of operations for hotels in Anaheim, Orange, and Yorba Linda that combined grossed approximately $6.0M in revenues. Prior to Lightstone Group, Rob worked at the 586-room Marriott Newport Beach (2000 to 2005).

Rob graduated from the University of Oregon in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

VP of Operations – Russ Olivier

Russ joined VIP as Director of Operations in June 2010, overseeing all aspects of operations at VIP with main emphasis on HR and capital projects. Prior to joining VIP, Russ was a GM of Home Depot stores in in California, with his last assignment being a $50M business. His people management and leadership skills that he perfected at Home Depot, along with strong retail background have been instrumental in taking VIP to the next level. Prior to Home Depot, Russ was a senior project manager for IBM Global Services. His passion for Hospitality Industry, however, goes back to his days as a golf caddie and pro shop associate at the Salishan Resort & Spa, where he worked all through Jr. High and High School years.

Russ received a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the University of Oregon.

VP of Finance – David Lee

David Lee joined VIP as the Director of Finance in October 2011, overseeing all accounting functions, providing internal control and financial analysis. Prior to joining VIP, David was founder of Compass Financial Solutions.  Prior to Compass, David worked for GiFone, Inc., a Voice-over-IP Software company, and at Emergent Corporation as the VP of Finance.

David, who started his career with Price Waterhouse-Coopers, graduated from University of California, Berkeley-Haas School of Business in 1992 with a B.S. in Accounting and Finance.

Regional Director of Operations – Robert Edwards

Robert joined VIP as Regional Director of Operations in May of 2016, managing capital projects and assisting with revenue management for VIP. Prior to his current position, Robert worked for Sage Hospitality as a Director of Revenue Management. His expert knowledge of sales and people management, along with a passion for hospitality have been instrumental for the development of the VIP brand and the smooth running of our hotels. In addition to working with Sage, Robert has had the opportunity to work for large brands and independent hotels throughout Portland, including as a General Manager. His passion for the Hospitality Industry, however, goes back to high school, where he worked at Knott’s Berry Farm greeting guests and helping them build memories with their families.

Director of People & Culture – Nadia Benyahich

Nadia joined VIP as Director of People and Culture in July 2017, overseeing human resources and helping to develop VIP's greatest asset: our people. Prior to VIP, Nadia worked as an Area Asst. General Manager for three Marriott branded hotels overseeing the on-site HR functions. Her attention to detail, integrity, and engagement skills along with a strong hospitality background have been instrumental for the opening of EVEN and continued development of VIP culture. Prior to being an Area Asst. General Manager, Nadia has held various other hospitality management positions across a variety of Marriott brands. Her passion for people and the hospitality industry goes back to her first job as a front desk agent at Hotel Vintage Plaza when she was 18 years old.

Nadia received a bachelors degree in Social Sciences from Portland State University.
